#2 On other family politics
Categories: General

[ENG] This new-years show focuses on network-families beyond blood relations, alternative models of family and ways of thinking a micropolitics of trust that can strengthen movements in the context of precarity and crisis. it is based on a variety of materials, and ways of thinking and speaking about the family – as organisational form, subject-object of government and also as form of relation.

first we have two people from the refugee protest camp in vienna talking about the conviviality of their wintery protest. then we call sushi on the phone, to tell us about her favourite queer-feminist terms in relation to family politics, and legal situations around elective families. after some reflections on the relation of families to precarity and crisis we hear about some spanish campaigns around reclaiming the family, as emerging form the 15m movement.

the show is in english with some german and spanish (translated back to english).

    Hey,

we, cafém – feminismus zum kennen_lernen, organise a regular café with an emancipatory approach in Dresden and would like to play some of the audio files , presented on the quEAR in Berlin, at our November-café. After the quEAR had been that favourable and brought so much fun we are now keen to make some of the input accessible for other interested persons too. The café will take place in Kosmotique on the 17 th of November. Partly we want to arrange small, cosy corners where one can listen to the inputs via headphones but we also planned to create a room where we listen to some of the files together and where there is space for discussion. Thereby we will point out in writing who is the artist of the particular input and the name(s).

Would you agree to a second singular release of your work? It would be brilliant. We could get the file from quEAR, but certainly will only use them with the explict consent on your part.

    Kind regards,
    Laura from cafém // e*vibes
